air pollution and myocardial infarction

چکیده
coronary artery disease is one of the main causes of mortality in most developed countries. there is also an increasing rate of mortality in developing countries where in addition to coronary artery disease, infection diseases still not have been controlled. although, now a day coronary artery disease is responsible for half of deaths in developed countries, this regrettable event is increasing rapidly. it is predicted that by the year 2000 this disorder will spread dominantly in all developing countries and will cause many health problems. although smoking is one of the main causes of stroke, coronary artery disease and other unfavorable effects on health, but recent studies show direct relationship between air pollution and prevalence of mortality due to coronary cardio pulmonary diseases. on the other hand, the principle which has been proved is that the negative effects of air pollution on heart and lung are more than other parts of human body.

Air pollution effects on myocardial infarction.
OBJECTIVE Myocardial infarction is an acute and severe cardiovascular disease that generally leads to patient admissions to intensive care units and few cases are initially admitted to infirmaries. The objective of the study was to assess whether estimates of air pollution effects on myocardial infarction morbidity are modified by the source of health information. METHODS The study was carrie...
متن کاملParticulate Air Pollution, Progression, and Survival after Myocardial Infarction
OBJECTIVE Several studies have examined the effect of particulate pollution (PM) on survival in general populations, but less is known about susceptible groups. Moreover, previous cohort studies have been cross-sectional and subject to confounding by uncontrolled differences between cities. DESIGN We investigated whether PM was associated with progression of disease or reduced survival in a s...
متن کاملIncreased particulate air pollution and the triggering of myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Elevated concentrations of ambient particulate air pollution have been associated with increased hospital admissions for cardiovascular disease. Whether high concentrations of ambient particles can trigger the onset of acute myocardial infarction (MI), however, remains unknown. METHODS AND RESULTS We interviewed 772 patients with MI in the greater Boston area between January 1995 a...
متن کاملAircraft noise, air pollution, and mortality from myocardial infarction.
OBJECTIVE Myocardial infarction has been associated with both transportation noise and air pollution. We examined residential exposure to aircraft noise and mortality from myocardial infarction, taking air pollution into account. METHODS We analyzed the Swiss National Cohort, which includes geocoded information on residence. Exposure to aircraft noise and air pollution was determined based on...
متن کاملEffects of air pollution on the incidence of myocardial infarction
Accepted 14 July 2009 Published Online First 26 July 2009 ABSTRACT Context: Short-term fluctuations in air pollution have been associated with changes in both overall and cardiovascular mortality. Objective: To consider the effects of air pollution on myocardial infarction (MI) risk by systematically reviewing studies looking at this specific outcome. Data sources: Medline, Embase and TOXNET pu...
متن کاملOzone air pollution is associated with acute myocardial infarction.
BACKGROUND Despite the diversity of the studied health outcomes, types and levels of pollution, and various environmental settings, there is substantial evidence for a positive link between urban air pollution and cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this study was to test the associations between air pollutants and the occurrence of acute myocardial infarction (AMI). METHODS AND RESULTS...
